Digital Scoreboards 10th Anniversary banner
When Buford High School unveiled their new Phillip Beard Stadium in August 2025, they didn’t just open a football facility. They created a viral sensation. With over 8,500 square feet of LED displays and a game that aired live on ESPN, this project has captured national attention and set new standards for high school athletics.

Here’s how Digital Scoreboards transformed a community vision into one of the largest high school stadium technology installations in U.S. history.

The Numbers That Made History

A 44′ x 82′ Digital Giant

The centerpiece of Buford’s transformation is impossible to miss. The massive double-sided scoreboard stands 44 feet tall and stretches 82 feet wide, utilizing 10mm pixel technology for crystal-clear visuals.

But here’s what makes it unique: the second 44′ x 82′ display faces the parking lot and street. Fans experience the excitement before they even enter the stadium, creating seamless communication that extends beyond the venue walls.

400 Linear Feet of Visual Excellence

The main scoreboard tells only part of the story. More than 400 linear feet of ribbon boards wrap around the home stands, visiting stands, and locker room areas. These displays showcase real-time stats, replays, and interactive content, creating a 360-degree digital environment for all 10,000 seats.

Built to Last: 11-Year Warranty

Digital Scoreboards backed their Buford installation with an unprecedented 11-year parts and labor warranty. In an industry where warranties typically max out at three to five years, this commitment demonstrates both the quality of technology and confidence in their work.

“All of this is done in an 11-year parts and an 11-year labor warranty, which is kind of unheard of in the space,” explains Digital Scoreboards’ President and CEO Chris Kirn.

White-Glove Service That Sets Standards

Solutions Meeting Service

Digital Scoreboards delivered more than equipment. They provided a complete experience. Their approach covers marketing, sales, customer fulfillment, and ongoing relationships. “It’s where solutions meet service,” notes Digital Scoreboards’ Regional Sales Executive Blake Bearden. This comprehensive support meant handling everything from design consultation through installation and training.

A Historic Achievement

Kirn confirms: “This is by far our largest project and honestly we think it’s one of, if not the largest project in US high school history.” This milestone required careful planning, innovative engineering, and flawless execution, all while maintaining the personal touch that sets Digital Scoreboards apart.

A Beacon for the Community

“This stadium represents more than just a technological achievement; it’s a community beacon for students, families, and fans,” says Kirn. “We’re proud to provide innovative display solutions that enhance the live sports experience and celebrate the rich tradition of excellence at Buford High.”

The stadium serves graduation ceremonies, community events, and celebrations throughout the year. The advanced display technology ensures every gathering benefits from professional-grade visual support.

Viral Success Creates Ripple Effects

When Buford’s stadium went viral online, it showcased what’s possible when communities invest in their athletic programs. The project has inspired conversations at school districts nationwide about reimagining their own facilities.

Setting New Expectations

Buford’s project proves that significant technology investments in high school athletics aren’t just expenses. They’re investments in community pride, student experience, and long-term facility value.

The success highlights the importance of choosing the right technology partner. Digital Scoreboards’ extended warranty coverage, white-glove service approach, and commitment to ongoing support made the difference between a successful installation and a truly transformational project.

As the Buford Wolves continue their season in this state-of-the-art facility, they’re not just playing football. They’re showcasing the future of high school athletics. When technology excellence combines with community vision, the results speak for themselves. 10,000 seats at a time.
