Digital Scoreboards 10th Anniversary banner

An LED scoreboard installation is not just a product delivery. Here is an honest look at what the process involves from the first site visit to opening night.

Assessment Before Proposal

Every school scoreboard installation at Digital Scoreboards starts with a site assessment. The team looks at existing structures, site conditions, sight lines, power supply, and what the sports programs actually need. The right solution for an outdoor football or baseball stadium is different from a gymnasium or a multi-venue campus, and that assessment shapes what gets proposed.

Existing Structure or New Construction

For outdoor projects, the existing structure can often be reused as long as it passes inspection and the new LED scoreboard stays within the same footprint and wind load. For projects requiring new construction, Digital Scoreboards offers 50-state licensed engineering, steel fabrication, and installation. Monopole structures with catwalks and safety packages are among the specialties.

How Long a School Scoreboard Installation Takes

  • Outdoor: 3 to 6 days from arrival through completion and training.
  • Indoor: 2 to 7 days from arrival through completion and training.

Complex or multi-venue projects will vary. Training is included in every scoreboard installation.

Software Setup and Hardware Compatibility

Hardware and software are configured together during the installation. Digital Scoreboards offers two scoreboard software options, ProScoreboard and ScoreVision. Schools that want to keep existing software are in most cases able to do so. Digital Scoreboard’s LED and processing are largely software-agnostic, with compatibility confirmed before installation day.

School Scoreboard Service and Warranty

School scoreboard service after installation is handled through Digital Scoreboards’ in-house Network Operating Center and the Field Nation network, which provides access to more than 50,000 technicians nationwide, generally within an hour of every installation.

Since January 1, 2024, Digital Scoreboards has averaged:

Both come standard with a 1-year labor warranty, with extended labor coverage available for up to 11 years outdoors and 7 years indoors.
